Life is a lot like a recipe. You have to have
the right ingredients or it can be a total disaster
right? When you parent a child whose needs are
many, you strive to find the right balance. You make
mistakes but you keep right on weighing, measuring,
mixing and baking. You are not looking for perfection.
You are looking for just the right blend. It’s called a recipe
1 cup of patience
2. 1 cup of laughter
3. 1 cup of anger
4. 1 cup of fear
5. 1 cup of grief
6. 1 cup of denial
7. 1 cup of acceptance
8. 1 cup of exhaustion
9. 1 cup of Tolerance
A splash of frustration, A dash of inspiration, throw in
some ” at my wit’s end” and stir well till mixed together.
The ingredients will overlap and be blended.
Some may rise to the top. That’s ok. Just keep mixing.
Now pour those feelings into a conversation
with a friend, an empty wine glass, a neglected spouse,
but don’t keep it in the oven too long or it will explode.
Mental health is just as important as physical well-being
on this journey.
